Alva has released a new cutting-edge version of our personality test, powered by Item Response Theory (IRT). This means that questions are selected intelligently based on your previous answers, to reduce testing time and increase accuracy of the results.

With this release, we have also revisited the business profiles. There were two significant changes: the definition of the profiles and the reference sample.

Our new 15 facets are considerably easier to understand, and display more meaningful variance of traits when looking at personality report. We also added more detailed insight both on each factor and facets.

Previously, we measured the same 30 traits as NEO-PI-R and, after a in-depth factor analysis we identified a smaller sub-set of facets that makes up the bulk of the variance.

You don't have to re-take the test, we will automatically translate your results.

These are the big changes:

Updated personality report

New test-taking experience

Changes on the business profile

With this release, we have also revisited the business profiles. There were two significant changes: the definition of the profiles and the reference sample.

First, the underlying facets that are used to calculate the profiles have changed to better reflect the meaning of the business profiles.

Second, since the new personality test is based on a wider sample than previously, the distribution of the business profiles are more aligned with the general population.

In summary, we have made improvements that may affect your business profile results. While your answers to the personality test haven’t changed, the interpretation of those answers are slightly different. For example, we learned that there are more Drivers among our users than we previously thought.
