Role Fit will be most accurate when you set the Importance level of each assessment to reflect how well that assessment predicts performance. This article will explain the different Importance levels in detail.
In short: The Importance level of an assessment determines how much its result contributes to Role Fit. The higher the Importance, the more weight it carries.
What is Importance?
Importance indicates how much a specific assessment contributes to the Role Fit score. It can be set at five different levels, ranging from Very low to Very high.
An assessment with Very high Importance will have a significantly greater influence on a candidate’s Role Fit score compared to an assessment with Very low Importance.
The Importance levels are relative to each other. This means that if all assessments are assigned the same Importance level, they will contribute equally to Role Fit. Only when different Importance levels are applied will their contributions differ.
What Importance levels should I choose for my job?
The default Importance levels are typically effective for most recruitment processes. These defaults are based on recent research findings about the predictive value of various assessments.
• Logic test: Medium
• Personality test: Medium
• Interview: High
• Coding test: Very high
If you choose to adjust the Importance levels, the general rule is to align them with how well an assessment predicts a candidate’s future performance.
For instance, a 15-minute screening call will not provide the same depth of information as a well-prepared case exercise. Reducing the weight of the screening interview can be a practical choice in such cases.
How do I change the Importance for a job?
You can adjust the Importance levels at any time, and Role Fit will update accordingly for your candidates. Click on the Assessment tab on a job position, and in Score combinations section you can adjust the sliders to change the importance.
Importance levels are set relative to each other. This means that if all assessments are marked as high importance, they will have an equal contribution to Role Fit. It is only when the assessments have varying levels of Importance, that the difference in contribution will happen.
