Setting up the Ashby integration

How to connect Ashby to Alva: create the API keys on both sides, set the required permissions, and finish the connection flow.

Prerequisites

  • You need to be an Organizational Admin in Ashby. You know you are one if you can select the Admin tab on the top.

  • If you are not an Admin, please contact your Administrator or IT department.

Instructions

Navigate to the Integrations Page

💡 Note: The Ashby Integrations page is reached from a connection-flow link. Speak to your Alva CSM to get it.

Navigate to the Ashby Integrations page by clicking on the link in the connection flow:

Set Up the Generated API Key

  1. Copy the API Key from the connection flow.

  2. Click on the input box, paste the API Key in the drop-down, and click Refresh to test the API key.

  3. Click Update.

Create Ashby API Key

  1. Click on the input box of the Ashby API Key field.

  2. Enter a name for the API key. Make sure from the name you still understand the purpose later, we're using the name "Assessment Integration" in this example:

  3. Click "Create new API key "<Your API Key name>".

Set Up the Ashby API Key

Once you've created the Ashby API Key, the API Key should show up. Click Copy to copy the API Key, and paste it into the Ashby API Key field of the connection flow:

Configure API Key Permission

  1. Click the Link icon:

  2. Click Configure API Key Permissions:

  3. Enable the required permission based on the connection flow, and click Save Permission Settings:

Set Up the Integration

Once you finish the steps above, click Set up integration in the connection flow.
