Overview
Every platform is a little different — some use blocks, others use modules, and some require a provider or developer to make changes for you.
In most cases, there are two ways to get the Job List Widget live:
You can add it yourself (if you have access to edit your career page or website)
You need to ask your career page provider to add it for you (if your platform restricts custom HTML or scripts)
This article explains how to embed the Job List Widget if you have access to edit your career page or website.
Step-by-step: Add the widget
1. Open the page editor
Go to the platform where your career page or website is hosted, and open the page where you want the widget to appear.
Common page choices:
Your main Careers page
Your job listing page
Your homepage (if you want jobs to show there)
2. Find a block/module that supports embedded code
Most platforms offer one of these options:
Custom HTML
Embed
Code block
Script/HTML module
Source code / Advanced editor
Look for keywords like HTML, Embed, Custom code, or Source code.
3. Paste the Job List Widget code
Paste the widget code into the HTML/embed area exactly as it appears in Alva.
✅ Paste it into a code/embed field, not a regular text field
✅ Avoid editing the code unless your platform requires it
4. Save and publish
Save your changes and publish the page.
Then visit the page to confirm the widget is visible and working.
If your platform doesn’t allow HTML or scripts
Some platforms (especially ATS career sites) may restrict embedded widgets for security reasons.
If you can’t paste the code — or it disappears after saving — try one of the options below:
Try a different block/module (e.g. “Embed” instead of “Rich text”)
Contact your platform support team and ask if they support embedding external HTML/JavaScript widgets
