Why do I need this?
If you're using Teamtailor as your ATS alongside Alva's Hiring System, you'll need a dedicated job template to connect the two. This template tells Teamtailor to automatically send new candidates to Alva as soon as they apply, so your assessment process kicks off without any extra work on your end.
You only need to set this up once. After that, you simply select the template whenever you push a job from Alva to Teamtailor - and everything flows automatically from there.
Before you begin
Before setting up the template, make sure you have the following in place:
Admin or manager access in Teamtailor - you need permission to create job templates. If you can't see the Templates section under Settings, reach out to your Teamtailor administrator.
The Alva integration is active - this should already be connected to your Teamtailor account. You can verify this on the integrations page in Alva.

Creating the template
You'll create the template in Teamtailor's Settings under Templates → Jobs.
Follow the steps below to set it up:
Navigate to job templates
Open Teamtailor and click your organisation name in the top right corner
Select Settings

In the menu on the left side of the screen, click Templates → Jobs
Click the Plus
button to create a new template
Name the template and add a trigger
Name the template "Alva Hiring System"
Click on Stages
section on the left side of the screenClick Stage actions
on the Inbox stage and select the trigger called "Send Alva Labs Assessment" - this is what tells Teamtailor to pass candidates over to Alva automatically
Configure the trigger settings
Do not select any assessments in the trigger
Under Additional options, set the delay to 0 - this is what makes the handoff instant, so candidates are sent to Alva the moment they enter Teamtailor
Click Add trigger
Click Create template
💡Note: Make sure the delay is set to 0. A higher delay means candidates won't appear in Alva right away, which can slow down your process.
Using the template
Once the template is created, you'll use it when publishing a job from Alva's Hiring System.
Publish to Teamtailor
In Step 4: Set up job ad of the job creation flow in Alva, choose Teamtailor as your publishing destination to push the job to your Teamtailor career page.
If you have more than one template in Teamtailor that matches the Hiring System template criteria, you'll see a dropdown list - select "Alva Hiring System" from that list. If you only have one matching template, Alva will select it for you automatically and you won't see an option to choose.
When does the job go live?
The job is created in Teamtailor as soon as you click Finish in Step 5: Final Review of the job creation flow in Alva. This means it goes live and is fineable for candidates immediately on your Teamtailor career page.
From that point on, every candidate who applies through Teamtailor for that job will automatically be sent to Alva. Their assessments and scoring are handled based on the criteria you've set up in the Hiring System - you don't need to do anything manually to move candidates from Teamtailor to Alva.
💡Note: If you need to make changes to the job ad or other settings in Teamtailor, navigate to Teamtailor straight away after clicking Finish and edit it there. If you're not yet ready to go live, unlist the job in Teamtailor until you're ready.
