Add an Interview to a Job

To add one or more interviews to a job:

  1. Open your job in Alva.

  2. Go to the Assessments tab.

  3. Click Add assessment and select Interview.

  4. Choose one of the following options:

You can add multiple interviews to the same job - for example, a technical interview and a values interview. Each will appear as its own assessment under the Assessments tab.

💡Note: If you use an ATS integration, interviews must be based on an interview template, and the template must be added directly from your ATS.

👉 Visit our ATS collection to see detailed setup instructions for your specific system.

Editing an Interview

If you need to update an interview after adding it to a job, you can make changes directly within the job.

  1. Open your job in Alva.

  2. Go to the Assessments tab.

  3. Click the three dots (⋮) in the interview box.

  4. Select Edit interview.

  5. From here, you can:

    • Remove or add criteria from your library.

    • Create new criteria directly within this view.

💡Note: Edits to a template added to a job only apply to that job - they won’t update templates in the library or affect other positions.

Removing an Interview

If you’ve added an interview by mistake or no longer need it, simply:

  1. Open your job in Alva.

  2. Go to the Assessments tab.

  3. Click the three dots (⋮) next to the interview name.

  4. Select Remove.

⚠️ Note: Removing an interview will permanently delete any ratings, notes, or results connected to that interview for all candidates in the job. Make sure you no longer need the data before removing it.

Adjusting the Importance Between Assessments

Once you’ve added your interviews, you can decide how much each assessment - including interviews, logic, and personality tests - should influence the overall Role Fit score.

You can adjust this directly within the Assessments tab by setting the importance level for each assessment.
This allows you to tailor how strongly interview results contribute compared to other tests in your hiring process.
