Applying to jobs takes time and effort. At Alva, we aim to create a fair job market where all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate how they fit towards a role, and the hiring company have the best tools to take an informed and unbiased decision.
Alva's Fair Play policy helps set all applicants on an even playing field by outlining what behaviors are accepted when taking performing an assessment.
What Is, and Is Not, Considered a Violation of the Fair Play Policy?
The Fair Play policy is in place to prevent single applicants from gaining an unfair advantage over others in a recruitment process. The Fair Play policy stipulates a set of rules that you must agree to in order to take a test. For example to not ask someone else to take a test for you, to not use a VPN or proxy server or not leave the test repeatedly.
These rules are in place to create a fair and comparable test session across all applicants in a hiring process.
Examples of behaviors that violate Alva's Fair Play Policy are:
Asking someone else to take a test for you, or taking help from other people
Sharing assignments or tests with people outside of the recruitment process
Attempting to manipulate tests
Using AI or large language models to answer for you
Examples of behaviors that do not violate Alva's Fair Play Policy are:
Preparing by practicing on similar tests
Learning about personality or logical assessments
Taking a break
What if I Accidentally Do Something Wrong?
The Fair Play rules is in place to make sure that all tests are taken in a fair manner, and that there is an equal playing field. The test rules are not in place to catch-out anyone taking the test in a common sense way. Should you act in a way that is in breach of the the Fair Play policy, it will be shown to you upon test completion.
What is Communicated to the Hiring Company?
We believe in transparency between candidates and the hiring company. In case a violation is detected during a test, it is always shown both to the test taker after test completion and to the hiring company when the results are shared. The hiring company may require you to re-take an assessment under supervision in case a violation is detected, to validate your result.
What are We Actually Tracking?
Alva monitors the browser session during a test for behaviors that we have correlated to gaining an potentially unfair advantage against other applicants in a process. However, we do not monitor using any methods intrusive to your privacy or that is irrelevant to the assessment process.
Does Alva Install Anything on My Computer?
No. You are not required to install any software onto your computer to take tests. We only monitor tests via information accessible to us via your web browser.
