Here's a simple step-by-step guide for how to get started with Alva Interviews.

1) Decide which criteria you would like to evaluate

What is the skill, experience, competency or other information that you would like to knowledge of from the candidate?

2) Find or create the criteria in the content library

Find the criteria you want to assess in the Interview content library. Alva has provided a set of ready-to-use content that you can use immediately.

You can also create your own criteria and add to the content library. For detailed instructions on how to do so, see Creating and Managing Interview Content.

💡Do you already have a competency framework or an existing library of interview content? We can help you import it into Alva, just contact your CSM or reach out to support@alvalabs.io and we'll get you started in no time!

3) Create an interview template

An interview template is essentially an interview to be conducted. It is a collection of content (instructions, questions to ask etc.).

For detailed instructions on how to create your own interview template, see Creating an Interview Template.

4) Add an interview template to a job position

Now that you have an interview template created, you want to assign it to a job position your hiring for.

For detailed instructions on how you add one or more interview templates to a job, see Setting up a job with one or more interviews.

5) Assign an Interviewer to an Interview

So you've decided what interview to conduct in a recruitment process. Now you need to assign the job of conducting the interview to a person.

For detailed instructions on how you assign an interviewer to an interview, see Assigning Interviewers.

6) Conduct the Interview

Once it is time to conduct the interview, the interviewer will have access to instructions, questions to asks, note-taking and rating in the Alva app.

For detailed instructions on how to conduct an interview, see Conducting an Interview.

7) Review the Interview Results

Once the interview has been conducted and the interviewer has published their ratings and notes, it will be available to other relevant users with the applicable access rights.
