Criteria

Represents the skills or competencies you want to assess, such as Communication or Results Orientation.

Criteria can have different Scoring Types: either on a 1-5 scale or not scored at all.

  • Use the 1-5 rating scoring type for assessing competencies and skills.

  • Use No rating scoring type to capture important details like salary expectations, notice periods, or if the candidate is involved in other recruitment processes.

Instruction

Provides guidance for yourself or the hiring manager on how to conduct an interview.

For example, it can be an instruction to the Interviewer, an intro to the interview or a wrap-up section at the end of the interview to inform the candidate on what the next step in the recruitment process will be.

Content

The collective term for Criteria (interview questions) and Instructions.

Interview content

The Interview content view in Alva where you create and manage all Criteria (your interview questions) and Instructions.

Interview Template

A set of Instructions and Criteria that you group together in the Interview Template view.

An interview template is essentially one interview with the instructions and questions to be asked during that one interview. Templates are reusable for future positions.

Interview

Once a job position is created in Alva, you can either add an existing interview template or build one from scratch for that specific role. Note that custom interviews created from scratch are specific to the job and cannot be reused.
