Create a New Position
You can create a new position from either the Home page or the Assessments page by clicking Create new position.
When creating a job, you’ll need to define:
Position title – What role are you hiring for?
Position owner and hiring team – Who in your organization should have access to this position?
Once created, your position opens using your organization’s default settings and displays the Assessment Profile tab.
💡Note: If you don’t see the option to create a position, you may not have the required permissions. Reach out to an admin in your organization to get access or have them create the position for you.
Overview of the Job Position Tabs
Each job position in Alva includes five tabs, helping you manage every step of your hiring process.
1. Candidates
View and manage all candidates connected to the position. You can track their progress and see which assessments have been completed.
2. Compare Candidates
Compare shortlisted candidates’ results side by side to identify who best matches the position.
3. Assessments
Displays all tests and interviews connected to the position. You can add, remove, or edit assessments, and adjust how much weight each one carries if needed.
4. Shared Results
View and manage any shared candidate reports or public result links sent to others.
5. Settings
Manage your job details, access, visibility, and communication preferences under Settings.
Position settings
Adjust the basic details of your job position:
Job title – Update the title of the role.
Team – Specify which team or department the position belongs to.
Location (data retention) – Define the country or region where candidate data will be stored and processed. (Learn more about location settings in here)
Internal job – When a job is marked as internal, invited candidates are not automatically shown in Alva Marketplace. Use this setting for internal assessments, such as leadership or talent programmes. (Learn more about Marketplace here)
Hiring team
Add or remove collaborators, assign a position owner, and control visibility.
Public listing
Control how candidates can access your position through:
Alva Marketplace – Makes your position visible to potential candidates within the Alva network. (Learn more about Alva Marketplace)
Public Page – Creates a unique signup link for the specific position, allowing candidates to sign up and complete assessments directly via the link. (Learn how to create a Public Signup Page)
Email settings
Edit the candidate communication sent from Alva, including invitations, reminders, and cadence.
